Wall Repair & Prep

Once bare, we patch any torn drywall face, skim coat damaged areas, sand smooth, and prime. The wall has to be right before paint or new paper goes on.

Will removing old wallpaper damage my walls?+

It can — but it doesn't have to. Proper technique involves scoring the surface, using the right soaking solution, and taking time to let the adhesive release before stripping. Rushing or dry-stripping is what causes drywall face damage. We take the slow approach, and we repair whatever damage exists before we finish the job.

My home has multiple layers of wallpaper. Can you handle that?+

Yes. Multi-layer removal is more labour intensive, but the process is the same — work through each layer methodically. We'll assess the number of layers and condition of the walls during your estimate so there are no surprises on scope or price.

Can you install wallpaper on any wall surface?+

Wallpaper requires a smooth, primed, stable surface. Fresh drywall needs to be sealed first — applying wallpaper directly to unprimed drywall makes future removal destructive. We assess surface readiness as part of the estimate and include any necessary prep in the scope.

Do you supply the wallpaper, or do I need to purchase it?+

We install customer-supplied wallpaper. You choose and purchase the pattern — we'll advise on how many rolls you'll need based on your room dimensions and the pattern repeat. We can also advise on paper types that are easier to hang and more durable for high-traffic areas.

How long does wallpaper removal and repainting take?+

A single average-sized room typically takes 2 to 3 days: one day for removal and wall repairs, one day for priming and painting. Larger rooms, multiple layers, or significant wall repair can extend this. We'll give you a realistic timeline during the estimate.
